Privacy and cookies
What happens to your data when you visit this site.
This page is about the rinux.it website. We keep it short because there is little to say, and that is by choice: this site collects the bare minimum and passes it to no one. For the data you send us through the "Open a request" form, the notice in the Legal notice applies.
1. Who processes the data
The data controller is RINUX di Bianchi Arturo, based in Cervaro (FR), Italy, VAT number IT02127690606. For any question about this page or your data you can write to us at privacy [at] rinux.it.
2. Cookies: no profiling
This site uses no profiling cookies, neither its own nor third-party ones. We use no advertising tools, tracking pixels, social buttons or content embedded from other sites, and the fonts are served from our own servers.
The only cookies are those of our statistics system (§3). They are used only to count visits in aggregate form, stay on this site and are read by no one else: for this reason they are treated as technical cookies and do not require your consent. That is why you will not find a banner.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
_pk_id | recognising the same browser from one visit to the next, with a random code | 13 months |
_pk_ses | grouping the pages read in a row into a single visit | 30 minutes |
_pk_ref | remembering which site you came from | 6 months |
You can delete or block them at any time in your browser settings: the site works just the same.
Restricted areas that require a login, such as the ticket system, also use a technical session cookie, needed to keep you logged in and deleted when the browser is closed.
3. Visit statistics
To understand which pages are read we use Matomo, statistics software installed on our own servers: the data does not go through Google or any other provider.
We use it only for aggregate statistics about this site: how many visits, which pages, what kind of device. We build no profiles, do not combine this data with other information and pass it to no one.
To produce the statistics, Matomo records for each visit the IP address, the page requested, date and time, and the type of browser and operating system. This data is kept for 12 months and then deleted; the aggregate statistics derived from it no longer relate to anyone in particular.
4. Server logs
Like any web server, ours records the requests it receives (IP address, date and time, page requested, outcome, browser). They are needed to run the site and to protect it from abuse and attacks. They are kept for at most 12 months and then deleted.
5. Legal basis
Aggregate statistics and server logs are based on our legitimate interest in keeping the site working, secure and useful (Art. 6(1)(f) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, the GDPR). We process no special categories of data and make no automated decisions.
6. Your rights
You can ask us at any time to access the data concerning you, to correct it, to delete it or to restrict its use, and you can object to the processing (Articles 15–22 of the Regulation). Just write to privacy [at] rinux.it.
If you believe the processing breaches the law, you can lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it).
